The Prefecture of the Papal Household announces the following programme of the visit:

10.00 Departure by car from the Vatican

10.20 Arrival in front of the “Divina Sapienza” University Chapel

The Holy Father will be welcomed by Professor Antonella Polimeni, Rector Magnificus.

At the entrance to the Church he will be welcomed by the Chaplain, Don Gabriele Vecchione.

In Church: brief moment of silent prayer, and greeting to a group of students.

10.30 Transfer by car to the central Square, where he will greet the students on the monumental staircase.

10.45 Rectorate Building – Reception Room:

private meeting with the Rector.

Signing of the Guest Book

11.00 In the corridor outside the Reception Room:

unveiling of a commemorative plaque marking the visit,

greeting to the Members of the Academic Senate and University staff.

11.15 Visit to the exhibition “Sapienza and the Papacy”

11.30 GREAT HALL: Meeting with Lecturers and Students

At the end: exchange of gifts and greeting to a representation of students.

12.15 Following the meeting in the Great Hall, the Holy Father will come out onto the monumental staircase to greet the students.

12.30 Departure from the University
