Appointment of bishop prelate of the territorial prelature of Caravelí, Peru

The Holy Father has appointed as bishop prelate of the territorial prelature of Caravelí, Peru the Rev. Fr. Reinhold Nann, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Freiburg im Breisgau in Germany, missionary fidei donum in Peru, currently pastor of the San Antonio de Padua parish in the apostolic vicariate of San José del Amazonas in Peru.

Fr. Reinhold Nann

The Rev. Fr. Reinhold Nann was born on 25 August in Breisach, archdiocese of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. He carried out his philosophical and theological studies in the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg. He was ordained a priest on 31 May 1987.

Upon arrival in Peru, he served as a priest fidei donum in the diocese of Carabayllo during the years 1992-1996. He returned in Peru, in the archdiocese of Trujillo, again as priest fidei donum, in the year 2002.

As a priest he has served in the following roles: vicar of the parish of St. Antonius in Mannheim-Rheinau, archdiocese of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany (1987-1989); chaplain ad interim and vicar of the parish of St. Margarethen in Waldkirch, archdiocese of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany (1989-1991); pastor of the parish of San Conrado in Los Olivos, diocese of Carabayllo, Peru (1992-1996); spiritual director of the St. Konrad und Elisabeth in Brühl, archdiocese of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany (1997-2001); administrator of the Madre de Cristo parish in La Esperanza, archdiocese of Trujillo, Peru (2002-2007); episcopal vicar of the north zone of the archdiocese of Trujillo, Peru (2003-2006); coordinator of the Partnerschaft in the archdiocese of Trujillo, Peru (2004-2012); administrator of the Virgen del Carmen parish in Cachicadán, archdiocese of Trujillo, Peru (2010-2013); administrator of the San Jerónimo parish in Mollepata-Asgasmarca, archdiocese of Trujillo, Peru (2011-2013); coordinator of the Schoenstatt Movement in the archdiocese of Trujillo, Peru (2013 to the present); administrator of the Divino Maestro parish in Miramar, Alto Moche, archdiocese of Trujillo, Peru.

He is current pastor of the San Antonio de Padua parish in the apostolic vicariate of San José del Amazonas, Peru.

 

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Yucatán, Mexico

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Yucatán, Mexico, the Rev. Fr. Sergio de Jesús Mena Díaz, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, episcopal vicar for the clergy and pastor of the archdiocesan shrine of “Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe”, assigning him the titular see of Zuglio.

His Excellency Msgr. Sergio de Jesús Mena Díaz

Msgr. Sergio de Jesús Mena Díaz was born on 4 May 1955 in Colonia Yucatán, archdiocese of Yucatán. After his studies in architecture at the Independent University of Yucatán, he commenced his formation in the major seminary of Mérida and, for one year, in Puebla. He was ordained a priest on 7 October 1986 for the archdiocese of Yucatán. He acquired experience in the field of parochial and above all vocational pastoral ministry at archdiocesan level, and as formator in the seminary. From 2004 to 2016 he served as coordinator of the diocesan commission of religious art, while from 2006 to 2012 he served the Mexican Episcopal Conference as executive secretary of the dimension of Vocational Pastoral Care and Ministries.

He is currently episcopal vicar for the clergy and parish priest of the archdiocesan shrine of “Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe” in the archdiocese of Yucatán.
