Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Santiago del Chile, Chile
The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of Santiago del Chile, Chile, Msgr. Cristián Carlo Roncagliogo Pacheco, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, currently deputy Grand Chancellor of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, assigned him the titular see of Ospita.
Msgr. Cristián Carlo Roncagliogo Pacheco
Msgr. Cristián Carlo Roncagliogo Pacheco was born in Santiago del Chile on 10 September 1969. Before entering the seminary he studied law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He then completed his studies in philosophy and theology at the major seminary of Santiago. He obtained a licentiate in theology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and a doctorate in pastoral theology from the Pontifical Salesian University of Rome.
He received priestly ordination on 3 July 1999, and was incardinated in the archdiocese of Chile.
He has held the following offices: vicar of the “Santa Rita de Casia” parish, secretary of the National Commission for the 2000 Jubilee, secretary to the archbishop, vicar of the “San Carlos Borromeo” parish, chaplain of the “San José” monastery of the Discalced Carmelites, collaborator with the Commission for editing the final document of the fifth Conference of the Latin American Episcopate in Aparecida, Brazil, vice rector of the “San Carlo Borromeo” International Ecclesiasical College in Rome, vicar of the “Santa Teresa de los Andes” parish, major chaplain and director of for pastoral ministry of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, vicar of the “Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes” and, since 2011, deputy Grand Chancellor of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
