This morning, 24 November 24 2025, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received in Audience, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, Her Excellency Evika Siliņa, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, accompanied by Archbishop Paul R. Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial talks at the Secretariat of State, both parties expressed satisfaction over the good relations between the Holy See and the Republic of Latvia, as well as the positive contribution that the Christian faith and the Catholic Church offer to the country.

The conversation also touched upon several regional and international issues, especially efforts to achieve peace and end the war in Ukraine.
