This morning, 24 November 2025, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received in Audience, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Prime Minister of Georgia, His Excellency Irakli Kobakhidze, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul R. Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial talks held at the Secretariat of State, mutual appreciation was expressed for the positive bilateral relations between the Holy See and Georgia, with particular attention given to various aspects of the life of the Catholic Church in the country.

The conversation also touched upon matters of common interest, particularly issues concerning bilateral relations, regional developments and the challenges that the country faces.
