Fusion of the dioceses of Saint-Jérôme and Mont-Laurier, and appointment of the bishop of the new ecclesiastical circumscription of Saint Jérôme – Mont-Laurier, Canada

The Holy Father has provided for the fusion of the dioceses of Saint-Jérôme and Mont-Laurier, Canada, in a new single ecclesiastical circumscription, entitled Saint-Jérôme – Mont-Laurier, belonging to the ecclesiastical province of Montréal. At the same time, he appointed Bishop Raymond Poisson, until now bishop of the dioceses of Saint-Jérôme and of Mont-Laurier, united in persona Episcopi, as bishop of the new diocese.
