The Collegium Liberianum is an association founded in 1995 within the Patriarchal Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome, under the auspices of the then Cardinal Archpriest Ugo Poletti, in order to provide a liturgical service according to the competencies proper to the laity.
The style, according to which each associate works within the Basilica, is based on the principles of dignity and composure, in conformity with the exigencies of the sacred place where the service is held. The benevolent support of His Eminence the Most Reverend Archpriest Cardinal of the Liberian Basilica and the Most Reverend Chapter, together with the teachings and guidance of the Master of Liturgical Celebrations, are essential for the continuous growth of the Association.
All of this can only be accomplished under the guidance of
Mary Most Holy, invoked in Saint Mary Major under the beloved title of
Salus Populi Romani.
