This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father Leo XIV received in audience His Excellency Mr. Ben Batabe Assorow, Ambassador of Ghana to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of his credential letters.
The following is a brief biography of the new ambassador:

Ambassador of Ghana to the Holy See
His Excellency Mr. Ben Batabe Assorow was born on 22 September 1956 in Navrongo. He is married with four children.
He studied at the Institute for Journalism in Accra (1976-1978); journalism and public relations at the now defunct University Pro-Deo in Rome (1978-1980) and missiology and communication at the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome (1993-1995).
He has held various positions as a reporter for several agencies, radio stations, television stations, and newspapers. These include: assistant secretary, Department of Communications (Catholic Church) (1981–1983); acting secretary (1983–1988); acting editor of the Catholic weekly newspaper The Standard (1984 – 1985); executive secretary (1988 – 2006); acting editor of the Catholic weekly newspaper The Standard (1995 – 1998); Ag. manager, The Standard Newspapers & Magazines Ltd. (SNAM) (1996 – 2000; director of Communications, Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) (2005 – 2016); and member of the National Media Commission (NMC) (2019 - 2025).
