NOTIFICATION

 

CLOSING OF THE COFFIN

OF THE ROMAN PONTIFF FRANCIS

           

On Friday 25 April 2025 at 20.00, in Saint Peter’s Basilica, His Eminence Kevin Joseph Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, will preside over the rite of the closing of the coffin of the Roman Pontiff Francis, in accordance with the provisions of the Ordo Exsequiarum Romani Pontificis (nos. 66-81).

The following are required to take part in the celebration:

6. His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin                      former Secretary of State

7. His Eminence Cardinal Baldassare Reina                Vicar General of His Holiness for the Diocese of Rome

8. His Eminence Cardinal Konrad Krajewski               Almoner of His Holiness

9. His Eminence Cardinal Edgar Peña Parra               Substitute of the Secretariat of State

10. HIs Excellency Archbishop Ilson de Jesus Montanari  Vice Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church

They are all required to be present at the Altar of the Confessio by 19.30. The ecclesiastics must wear their own choral habit.
