The following is the telegram of condolence for the victims of the accident that occurred in recent days in the Novi Sad railway station in Serbia, sent by the Holy Father Francis to the President of the Republic, Aleksander Vučić:

I SEND TO YOUR EXCELLENCY AND YOUR FELLOW CITIZENS MY DEEPEST SYMPATHIES TOGETHER WITH THE ASSURANCE OF MY SPIRITUAL CLOSENESS FOLLOWING THE RECENT INCIDENT AT NOVI SAD RAILWAY STATION.  AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME FOR THE NATION, I PRAY ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DIED, THEIR GRIEVING FAMILIES AND THE INJURED.  UPON ALL AFFECTED BY THIS TRAGEDY, I INVOKE ALMIGHTY GOD’S BLESSINGS OF HEALING, CONSOLATION AND PEACE.
