The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Tesfaye Tadesse Gebresilasie, M.C.C.J., until now superior general of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus, as auxiliary bishop of the archeparchy of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, assigning him the titular see of Cleopatris.
Curriculum vitae
Fr. Tesfaye Tadesse Gebresilasie, M.C.C.J., was born in Harar on 22 September 1969. He entered the postulate of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus in 1986, and gave his perpetual vows in the same Congregation on 1 November 1994. He was ordained a priest on 26 August 1995 in Addis Ababa.
He was awarded a licentiate in theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, and a diploma in Islamic studies from the Pontifical Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Rome. He continued his Islamic studies at Dar Comboni for Arabic Studies in Cairo, and attended a formation course at the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome.
He has held the following offices: deputy parish priest and director of the Comboni School in Haro Wato (2001), provincial counsellor of the Combini Missionaries in Ethiopia (2002-2004), provincial of the Comboni Missionaries in Ethiopia and president of the Conference of Religious Major Superiors of Ethiopia (2005), coordinator of the Confederation of Conferences of Major Superiors of Africa and Madagascar (2013), and superior general of the Comboni Missionaries (2015 and 2022).

The Holy Father has appointed the following as auxiliary bishops of Valencia, Spain: the Reverend Fernando Enrique Ramón Casas, assigning him the titular see of Pertusa, and the Reverend Arturo Javier García Pérez, assigning him the titular see of Tamazeni.
Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Fernando Enrique Ramón Casas
Msgr. Fernando Enrique Ramón Casas was born on 16 July 1966 in Valencia. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies at La Inmaculada Major Seminary, and was ordained a priest on 28 May 1994 for the same archdiocese.
After ordination, he first held the office of parish priest in Benimarfull, Alquería de Aznar, Almudaina and Benillup. He was awarded a licentiate in sacred scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute (2015), and went on to serve as parish vicar of San Nicolás de Bari, in Gandía, and vice rector and rector of the major seminary. He is currently episcopal vicar for Vicariate V (Iliria-Requena-Ademuz), and professor in the Faculty of Theology in Valencia.

Msgr. Arturo Javier García Pérez was born on 25 December 1967 in Alicante. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies at La Inmaculada Major Seminary in Valencia, and the College of the Presentation of Our Lady at the Temple and of Saint Thomas of Villanueva. He was ordained a priest on 27 May 1995 for the metropolitan archdiocese of Valencia.
He has held the following offices: parish priest of Santa Marina de Torrebaja, Santa Ana de Torrealta, San Marcos de los Santos, San Joaquín y Santa Barbara de Arroyo Cerezo, Our Lady of the Angels in Castielfabib, and Immaculate Conception in Bias (1995-2002); parish priest of the Nativity of Our Lady of Torís (2008-2016), parish priest of the Holy Kinds in Yátova (2011-2013), and spiritual director of the Immaculate Conception Major Seminary in Moncada (2016-2022). Since 2017 he has served as diocesan delegate for the Missions. He is currently rector of the Colegio Mayor de la Presentación y Santo Tomás de Villanueva and rector of the Real Iglesia El Salvador in Valencia.
Appointment of the administrative management director of the Laudato si’ Centre for Higher Education
The Holy Father today appointed the Reverend Manuel Dorantes, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Chicago, until now parish priest of Saint Mary of the Lake and Our Lady of Lourdes in the same archdiocese, as administrative management director of the Laudato si’ Centre for Higher Education for a four-year term. He will begin his assignment on 1 December 2024.
