Appointment of bishop of Nevers, France

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Grégoire Drouot, of the clergy of the diocese of Autun, until now vicar general and administrator of the parish of Notre-Dame-de-Bresse-Finage, as bishop of the diocese of Nevers, France.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Grégoire Drouot was born on 6 March 1976 in Vénissieux, archdiocese of Lyon. He holds a licentiate in history and in geography, and a Maîtrise in law. He entered the seminary of Paray-le-Monial for his studies in philosophy, and continued his theological formation at the Institut d’Études Théologiques in Brussels, where he was awarded a licentiate in sacramental theology in 2007. On 1 July 2007 he was ordained a priest, and incardinated in the diocese of Autun.

He has held the following offices: vicar of Saint-Pierre-et-Paul in Chalon-sur-Saône and service for Catholic teaching establishments of the Saint-Charles-Borromée Group (2009-2013), vicar of Sacré-Coeur-en-Val-d’Or in Paray-le-Monial and episcopal delegate for youth and vocational pastoral care, teacher at the Saint-François-de-Sales Preparatory House (2013-2018), moderator of pastoral care of Saint-Jean-Baptiste-en-Bresse (2019-2022), administrator of Sainte-Jeanne-de-Chantal in Étang-sur-Arroux. Since 2018 he has served as vicar general of Autun and, since 2023, administrator of Notre-Dame-de-Bresse-Finage.

 

Appointment of consultor of the Dicastery for Culture and Education

The Holy Father has appointed the distinguished Professor Antonella Sciarrone Alibrandi, judge of the Constitutional Court of the Italian Republic, as consultor of the Dicastery for Culture and Education.

 

Appointment of member of the Dicastery for Culture and Education

The Holy Father has appointed His Eminence Cardinal Blase Joseph Cupich, archbishop of Chicago, as member of the Dicastery for Culture and Education.
