On Saturday 30 September 2023, at 10.00, in Saint Peter’s Basilica, the Holy Father Francis will hold an Ordinary Public Consistory for the creation of new Cardinals, for the imposition of the biretta, the consignment of the ring and the assignation of the Title or Deaconry
The Eminent Members of the College of Cardinals are requested to arrive by 9.30 at the Altar of the Confessio, wearing their proper choral habit.
The newly created Cardinals, in choral habit, without the ring, zucchetto or biretta, must be present by 9.30 at the Chapel of Saint Sebastian.
The Patriarchs, Archbishops, Bishops and all those who, in conformity with the Motu Proprio “Pontificalis Domus” compose the Papal Chapel and who, having received the required Notification via celebrazioni@celebra.va, wish to participate in the Consistory, wearing their proper choral habit, are requested to be at 9.30 a.m. at the Altar of the Confessio, to occupy the place which will be indicated to them by the Pontifical Masters of Ceremonies.

On Saturday 30 September, from 11.30 to 13.30, the courtesy visits to the new Cardinals will take place.

On Wednesday 4 October, at 9.00, on the parvis of Saint Peter’s Basilica, the Holy Father will preside over the Eucharistic Celebration with the new Cardinals and the College of Cardinals, also on the occasion of the Opening of the Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.
The following may concelebrate with the Holy Father:
- newly created Cardinals, to be present in choral habit by 8.15 in the Gregorian Chapel;
- the College of Cardinals and the Patriarchs, to be present by 8.15 in the Chapel of Saint Sebastian, bringing with them the white damask mitra;
the Archbishops, Bishops and the Presbyters, members of the Synod, with the appropriate ticket, who will be in the Braccio di Costantino by 8.00, bringing with them: the Archbishops and Bishops, amice, surplice, cincture and white mitre; the Presbyters, amice, surplice and cincture;
- the other Archbishops and Bishops, provided with a special ticket, issued by the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff through the procedure indicated on the website https://biglietti.liturgiepontificie.va/, who will be in the Braccio di Costantino by 8.00 bringing with them amice, surplice, cincture and white mitre;
- the Presbyters, provided with a special ticket, issued by the Office for Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff through the procedure indicated on the website https://biglietti.liturgiepontificie.va/, who will be present by 8.00 directly in the sector reserved for them in Saint Peter's Square, where they will put on the amice, surplice, cincture and white stole that they will have brought with them.
The Patriarchs, Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops and all those who, in accordance with Motu Proprio “Pontificalis Domus” make up the Pontifical Chapel and who, having received the required Notification through the email address: celebrazioni@celebra.va, wish to participate in the liturgical celebration without concelebrating, wearing their proper choral habit, are asked to be on the parvis of Saint Peter's Basilica by 8.30.
