Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Sweden and Iceland

The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Julio Murat, titular archbishop of Orange, until now apostolic nuncio in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, as apostolic nuncio in Sweden and Iceland.

 

Appointment of bishop of Cuautitlán, Mexico

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Efraín Mendoza Cruz, until now titular bishop of Cubda and auxiliary of Tlalnepantla, as bishop of the diocese of Cuautitlán, Mexico.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Mendoza Cruz was born on 24 November 1959 in Tlalnepantla, Mexico. He was ordained on 18 February 1988 for the archdiocese of Tlalnepantla. After completing his studies in philosophy and theology, he obtained a diploma in social pastoral care at the IMDOSOC and in catechesis at the Instituto Teológico Pastoral para América Latina.

He has held the following offices: formator in the seminary, parish priest in various parishes, coordinator of diocesan prophetic pastoral ministry and of the ecclesiastical province, episcopal vicar of the III Pastoral Zone of Tlalnepantla and rector of the major seminary of the archdiocese.

On 4 Jule 2011 he was appointed as titular bishop of Cubda and auxiliary of Tlalnepantla, receiving episcopal ordination the following 27 July. On 2018 he was elected for a three-year term as Commission of the Episcopal Conference for the Pontifical University.
