Resignation and appointment of bishop of Annecy, France

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Annecy, France, presented by Bishop Yves Boivineau.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Yves Le Saux, until now bishop of Le Mans, as bishop of Annecy, France.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Yves Le Saux was born on 24 December 1960 in Hennebont, Brittany, in the diocese of Vannes. After completing his classical studies, for a year he attended the Institut Catholique de Paris, after which he entered the Seminary of Autun, as a member of Communauté de l’Emmanuel. He carried out his studies in philosophy and theology at the Institut d’Études Théologiques in Brussels, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in theology.

He was ordained a priest on 2 June 1986 in Autun, the diocese in which he was incardinated.

He has held the following ministries: chaplain at the Shrines of Paray-le-Monial; chaplain of the École Internationale de Formation et d’Évangélisation (EIFE) in Paray-le-Monial (1986-1992); adjunct superior of the chaplains of the same Shrines (1992-1997); episcopal delegate for family pastoral care of the diocese of Autun (1994-1997); head of the preparatory year of the Communauté de l’Emmanuel at the Maison Saint-Joseph in Namur, Belgium (1997-2002); head of priests, deacons and seminarians of the same Community (2002-2008).

On 21 November 2008 he was appointed as bishop of Le Mans. He received episcopal consecration on 25 January 2009. Within the French Episcopal Conference he is member of the Episcopal Commission for Consecrated Life and a permanent guest of the Council for Communication. In addition, he is president of the Editorial Committee of KTO-Télévision Catholique.

 

Resignation of auxiliary bishop of Canelones, Uruguay

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the office of auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Canelones, Uruguay, presented by Bishop Leopoldo Hermes Garín Bruzzone.

 

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Santiago de Guatemala, Guatemala

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Tulio Omar Pérez Rivera, of the clergy of the diocese of Sololà-Chimaltenango, currently vicar general of the same diocese, assigning him the titular see of Filaca.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Tulio Omar Pérez was born on 14 September 1977 in Guatemala City.

He carried out his primary studies at the Colegio Mons. Angelico Melotto in Chimaltenango, and his secondary studies at the Colegio La Salle in Guatemala City.

He carried out his philosophical and theological studies in the Nuestra Señora del Camino Major Seminary in Sololá. He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Sololá-Chimaltenango on 19 March 2005.

He has held the following ministries: rector of the Señor San José Minor Seminary in Sololá and formator of the Nuestra Señora del Camino major seminary of the diocese of Sololá-Chimaltenango (2005-2009); studies at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, where he obtained a licentiate in liturgical theology (2009-2011); parish priest of the Santos Mártires Inocentes Parramos parish in Chimaltenango and local collaborator of the apostolic nunciature in Guatemala (2012-2019); parish priest of the San Andrès in Itzapa parish in Chimaltenango (2019-2020); diocesan administrator of Sololá-Chimaltenango (2020-2021); vicar general of the same diocese (2021-2022).
