Appointment of bishop of Kahama, Tanzania

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Christopher Ndizeye Nkoronko, of the clergy of the diocese of Kigoma, until now vicar general and secretary general of the Pastoral Department, as bishop of the diocese of Kahama, Tanzania.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Christopher Ndizeye Nkoronko was born on 25 March 1970 in Kalinzi, diocese of Kigoma. He attended the secondary school at the Katoke Minor Seminary (1986-1993). After the preparatory year at the Ujiji Minor Seminary (1993-1994), he studied philosophy at the Kibosho Major Seminary of Moshi (1994-1996) and theology at the Segerea Major Seminary (1996-1999). He served at the Ujiji Minor Seminary for one year (1999-2000).

He was ordained a priest on 5 July 2001.

After ordination, he held the roles of parish assistant at the Kasulu parish (2001-2004) and teacher and formator at the Saint Paul Senior Seminary of Kipalapala (2004-2005). He then studied moral theology at the San Paolo Studio Teologico of Catania, Italy, where he was awarded a licentiate (2005-2008). He collaborated at the Nostra Signora del Santissimo Sacramento parish (2005-2006) and served as assistant at the Beata Maria Vergine Assunta parish in Catania (2006-2008). He served as teacher and formator at the Saint Paul Senior Seminary of Kipalapala (2008-2011), director of the diocesan apostolate for laypeople (2011-2012), parish priest of the Kibondo parish (2011-2016), dean of Kibondo, president of the diocesan union of priests (UMAWATA) and vice director of the diocesan apostolate for laypeople (2012-2016), undersecretary of national UMAWATA (2015-2016), and parish priest of the Cathedral Church (2016-2019). From 2011 to date, he has been diocesan director of the Pontifical Mission Societies; since 2016, vicar general of the diocese of Kigoma, and since 2019, secretary general of the pastoral department.

 

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Cebu, Philippines

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Msgr. Ruben Caballero Labajo, until now vicar general and moderator of the Saint Francis of Assisi parish in Balamban, as auxiliary bishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Cebu, Philippines, assigning him the titular see of Abbir maius.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Ruben Caballero Labajo was born on 24 September 1966 in Poblacion, Talisay City, in the metropolitan archdiocese of Cebu. He carried out his higher studies and those in philosophy and theology at the San Carlos Seminary College of Cebu City.

He was ordained a priest on 10 June 1994 for the metropolitan archdiocese of Cebu.

He subsequently held the following offices: parish vicar of Mandaue City (1995-1997), parish priest of the Santa Fe parish, Bantayan, Cebu, moderator of the Tabunok parish, Talisay City (2007-2014), moderator of the metropolitan cathedral of Cebu, member of the Personnel Board of the archdiocese, and vicar forane of the vicariate of the Holy Rosary (2014-2019).

In 2017 he became a member of the Council of Consultors, episcopal vicar of the I District and member of the Presbyteral Council.

In 2020 he was appointed vicar general and moderator of the Saint Francis of Assisi parish in Balamban.
