Yesterday afternoon, at 16.00, an online meeting of the Council of Cardinals was held.

Their Eminences Cardinals Óscar A. Rodríguez Maradiaga, S.D.B., Reinhard Marx, Sean Patrick O'Malley, O.F.M. Cap., Oswald Gracias and Fridolin Ambongo Besungu, O.F.M. Cap., participated in the meeting, while Their Eminences Cardinals Pietro Parolin and Giuseppe Bertello joined from the Vatican. The Holy Father took part in the meeting, connecting from Casa Santa Marta.

After everyone had offered their own considerations on the application of the new Apostolic Constitution, the work of the Council focused on some organisational and thematic aspects of the next meeting of all the Cardinals, scheduled for 29 and 30 August.

The meeting ended shortly before 17.00, and the Council adjourned until September.
