Funeral of His Eminence Cardinal Achille Silvestrini

On Friday 20 August 2019, at 15.30, at the Altar of the Cathedra of the Vatican Basilica, the funeral celebrations will take place for His Eminence Cardinal Achille Silvestrini, of the Title of San Benedetto fuori Porta San Paolo, prefect emeritus of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.

The liturgy will be celebrated by His Eminence Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, deputy dean of the College of Cardinals, along with the cardinals, archbishops and bishops.

At the end of the Eucharistic Celebration, the Holy Father Francis will preside at the rite of the Ultima Commendatio and the Valedictio.
