Resignation of bishop of Janaúba, Brazil, and appointment of successor
The Holy Father Francis has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the dicoese of Janaúba, Brazil, presented by H.E. Msgr. Guerrino Riccardo Brusati.
The Pope has appointed as bishop of Janaúba, Brazil, the Rev. Roberto José da Silva, currently rector of the major archdiocesan seminary of Santo Antônio.
The bishop-elect was born in 1965 in Santos Dumont, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and was ordained a priest in 1994. He holds a licentiate in spiritual theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome, and since ordination has served as parish vicar, parish priest, formator and spiritual director of the seminary, and member of the presbyteral council, of the episcopal council, and of the council for formation.
