Resignation of auxiliary of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the office of auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, presented by H.E. Msgr. Valentín Reynoso Hidalgo, M.S.C., titular bishop of Mades.

 

Appointment of bishop of Chartres, France

The Holy Father has appointed the Rev. Philippe Philistory, parish priest of the parish of Sainte-Trinité, Paris, as bishop of the diocese of Chartres, France.

H.E. Msgr. Philippe Philistory

H.E. Msgr. Philippe Philistory was born on 28 February 1958 in Tourcoing, in the diocese of Lille. After obtaining a diploma in Engineering from the Institut Catholique des Arts et Métiers in 1980, he worked as an engineer for several years in France and in Africa, during which he met the Communauté de l'Emmanuel. Sent as a seminarian of the archdiocese of Paris to the Pontifical French Seminary in Rome, he carried out his ecclesial studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University, and then obtained a Licentiate in Mariology at the Pontifical Theological Faculty “Marianum”.

He was ordained a priest on 27 June 1992 for the archdiocese of Paris.

He has held the following positions and ministries: student in Rome at the Pontifical Theological Faculty “Marianum” (1992-1993); parish vicar of the Sainte-Trinité parish in Paris (1993-1998); chaplain of Racine High School and of the Condorcet College (1996-1998); parish priest of Saint-Nicolas-des-Champs in Paris (1998-2004); spiritual father at the Paris Seminary, head of the Maison Saint-Martin de Tours (Paris Seminary) (2001-2004); service in the diocese of Fréjus-Toulon, parish priest of Cogolin (2004-2007); parish priest of Saint-Laurent in Paris (2007-2014); and since 2014, parish priest of the Sainte-Trinité paish in Paris and member of the International Council of the Communauté de l'Emmanuel.

 

Appointment of auxiliary bishops of Guadalajara, Mexico

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliaries of Guadalajara, Mexico, the Reverend Juan Manuel Muñoz Curiel, O.F.M., provincial minister of the Province of Santos Francisco y Santiago en México, assigning him the titular seat of Tucci, Héctor López Alvarado, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Guadalajara, pastor of the parish of Nuestra Señora de Bugambilias and episcopal vicar, assigning him the titular seat of Sereddeli, and Engelberto Polino Sánchez, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Guadalajara, pastor of the parish of San Bernardo and coordinator of the diocesan section of social pastoral care, assigning him the titular see of Vazari Didda.

 

Rev. Juan Manuel Muñoz Curiel, O.F.M.

The Rev. Muñoz Curiel was born in Guadalajara on 12 March 1958. He is an agricultural engineer and holds a degree in spiritual theology from the “Antonianum” University of Rome. He was ordained a priest on 3 July 1993, incardinated in the Order of Friars Minor.

He has held the following positions: teacher, animator of vocational ministry, secretary of the province, deputy master master of Juniores, counsellor for public associations of the archdiocese of Guadalajara, episcopal secretary for Consecrated Life of the archdiocese of Guadalajara, member of the presbyteral council of the same archdiocese, and rector of the Church of San Diego in the city of Aguascalientes.

He is currently provincial of the province of Santos Francisco y Santiago en México.

 

Rev. Héctor López Alvarado

The Rev. Héctor López Alvarado was born on 13 December 1970. He studied at the Guadalajara seminary and was ordained a priest on 19 May  2002. He obtained a licentiate in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

He has held the following positions: parish vicar of various parishes, chaplain of the Marist friars, seminary formator, dean and parish priest of the parish María Madre del Redentor.

He is currently pastor of the parish of Nuestra Señora de Bugambilias, episcopal vicar of the Vicaria Nuestra Señora del Rosario Toluquilla and auxiliary of the archdiocesan Centre for Television and Audiovisual Production.

 

Rev. Engelberto Polino Sánchez

The Rev. Engelberto Polino Sánchez was born in Teuchitlán, State of Jalisco, on 14 March 1966.

He was ordained a priest on 1 June 1997, incardinated in the archdiocese of Guadalajara.

He attended courses in social pastoral care in Santa Fé, Colombia, and further studies at the IMDOSOC, in México City.

He has held the following positions: parish vicar and parish priest of the parish of Santa Elena de la Cruz.

He is currently pastor of the parish of San Bernardo and coordinator of social pastoral care.
