Appointment of auxiliary bishops of Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina
The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishops of Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina, Rev. Alejandro Pablo Benna of the clergy of the archdiocese of Buenos Aires, pastor of the San Francisco de Asís parish in Lavallol, assigning him the titular see of Vardimissa, and Rev. Roberto Álvarez, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Córdoba, pastor of the parish of Nuestra Señora del Rosario and parish administrator of the parish of Nuestra Señora de Fátima in Cosquín, assigning him the titular see of Sozopoli di Emimonto.
H.E. Msgr. Alejandro Pablo Benna
H.E. Msgr. Alejandro Pablo Benna was born on 12 November 1959 in Buenos Aires. He studied at the archdiocesan seminary of Buenos Aires and was ordained a priest on 14 November 1987.
As a priest he has held the following offices: parish vicar of the parishes of Nuestra Señora de Balvanera, San Ramón Nonato, Nuestra Señora de la Anunciación and Santa Ana y San Joaquín, executive director of the episcopal vicariate for youth, assessor of the Cardenal Eduardo Pironio Youth Pastoral Institute, member of the San Pedro Ecclesiastical Association and pastor of the parish of Santa Ana y San Joaquín. He currently exercises his ministry in the diocese of Lomas de Zamora, as pastor of the parish of San Francisco de Asís in Lavallol.
H.E. Msgr. Roberto Álvarez
H.E. Msgr. Roberto Álvarez was born in Córdoba on 5 May 1968. He attended the major seminary in Córdoba, and received priestly ordination on 14 December 1998.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of the parishes of María Madre de Dios in Villa del Dique and Santa Mónica y San Agustín, pastor of the parish of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores in Río Ceballos and administrator of the parish of Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Salsipuedes. He is currently lecturer at the archdiocesan seminary, pastor of the parish of Nuestra Señora del Rosario and parish administrator of the parish of Nuestra Señora de Fátima in Cosquín.

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of San José de Costa Rica, Costa Rica, Rev. Daniel Francisco Blanco Méndez, of the clergy of the archdiocese of San José de Costa Rica, currently vicar general and pastor of the Virgen del Carmen parish in San José, assigning him the titular see of Pulcheriopoli.
H.E. Msgr. Daniel Francisco Blanco Méndez
H.E. Msgr. Daniel Francisco Blanco Méndez was born in San José on 4 October 1973. He carried out his studies in philosophy and theology at the National Major Seminary of Costa Rica. He holds a licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
He received priestly ordination on 8 December 2000, and was incardinated in the archdiocese of San José de Costa Rica.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of the parishes of San Luis de Tolosa, Sagrada Corazón and San Isidro Labrador, parish administrator of the parish of El Carmen, pastor of the parishes of San Isidro Labrador and San Juan María Vianney, judge auditor of the National Ecclesiastical Tribunal and archdiocesan chancellor. Since 2016 he has served as vicar general of the archdiocese and pastor of the Virgen del Carmen parish in San José.
