Appointment of auxiliary of Mendoza, Argentina

The Holy Father Francis has appointed as auxiliary of the archdiocese of Mendoza, Argentina, Rev. Msgr. Marcelo Fabián Mazzitelli of the clergy of the diocese of San Isidro, assigning him the titular see of Pauzera.

Rev. Msgr. Marcelo Fabián Mazzitelli

The Rev. Msgr. Marcelo Fabián Mazzitelli was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 25 June 1960.

He attended the diocesan Seminary of San Isidro, and was ordained a priest on 11 March 1986 for the diocese of San Isidro.

He obtained a licentiate in theology from the Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires.

He has held the following roles: parish vicar; prefect and rector of the diocesan Seminary of San Isidro; member of the presbyteral council; president of the Organización de Seminarios en Argentina; missionary in Holguin, Cuba, and parish priest of Santa Rita in Boulogne.

Since 2015 he has served as an official of the Congregation for the Clergy.
