Appointment of secretary and adjunct secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples

The Holy Father has appointed as secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, His Excellency Rev. Msgr. Protase Rugambwa, archbishop-bishop emeritus of Kigoma, currently adjunct secretary of the same Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and president of the Pontifical Mission Societies.

His Holiness has also appointed as adjunct secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and president of the Pontifical Mission Societies the Rev. Msgr. Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, former secretary of the Pontifical Council “Cor Unum”, at the same time elevating him to the titular see of Foraziana, with the dignity of archbishop.
