This morning, at 11.55, in Vatican City State Tribunal, the sixth hearing began in the criminal trial for the misappropriation of funds from the Bambino Gesù Foundation.
The defendants, both present, were accompanied by their respective court-appointed attorneys: Antonello Blasi for Giuseppe Profiti, and Alfredo Ottaviano for Massimo Spina.
The panel of judges was composed of Professor Paolo Papanti-Pelletier, President; Professor Venerando Marano, Judge; and Professor Carlo Bonzano, Judge.
The Office of the Promoter of Justice was represented by the adjunct Promoter, Professor Roberto Zanotti.
The witness Gianantonio Bandera was present. The hearing, which ended at 16.00, was dedicated to the questioning of the witness called by the Office of the Promoter of Justice and by the defence attorneys.
The Tribunal renewed its Ordinance to call as witnesses Dr. Tommaso Di Ruzza, Director of the Financial Information Authority, and the President of Bambino Gesù Hospital, Dr. Mariella Enoc.
Finally, the panel of judges indicated that the next hearing would take place on Friday 6 October at 12.30.
