At 10.00 this morning, the Holy Father Francis received in audience H.E. Mr. Gerardo Ángel Bugallo Ottone, ambassador of Spain to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of his credential letters.

Ambassador of Spain to the Holy See
H.E. Mr. Gerardo Ángel Bugallo Ottone was born on 21 September 1954 and is married with two children. He holds a degree in law and a diploma in international relations of the Diplomatic School
He has held the following offices: secretary of the Embassy and Consulate in Algiers (1984 to Apil 1987); secretary of the Embassy in Budapest (May 1987 to April 1990); adjunct general Consul for Cultural Affairs in New York (May 1990 to July 1993); vice Director General of the “North America” Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (August 1993 to July 1994); Cultural Advisor at the Embassy in Tokyo (April 1996 to July 2000); Head of Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (July to November 2000); advisor to the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government (April 2001 to 2002); Director General of the “North America, Asia and Pacific” Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2003 to March 2004); Permanent Representative Ambassador at the United Nations Conference on Disarmament in Geneva (July 2004 to March 2009); General Consul in Sydney (April 2009 to August 2003); Ambassador in Kiev (September 2013 to August 2017).
He knows English and Italian.
