Elevation to diocese of the apostolic vicariate of Bomadi, Nigeria and appointment of first bishop
On 21 September the Holy Father elevated to the level of diocese the apostolic vicariate of Bomadi, in Nigeria, with the same denomination and territorial configuration, making it a suffragan of the metropolitan see of Benin City.
The Pope has appointed as first bishop of the diocese of Bomadi H.E. Msgr. Hyacinth Oroko Egbebo, M.S.P., currently apostolic vicar of the same see.
