Pubblichiamo di seguito il testo del videomessaggio del Santo Padre Francesco che viene trasmesso questa mattina al popolo egiziano in occasione dell’imminente Viaggio Apostolico in Egitto:
Videomessaggio del Santo Padre
Caro popolo d’Egitto! Al Salamò Alaikum! La pace sia con voi!
Con cuore gioioso e grato verrò tra pochi giorni a visitare la vostra cara Patria: culla di civiltà, dono del Nilo, terra del sole e dell’ospitalità, ove vissero Patriarchi e Profeti e ove Dio, Clemente e Misericordioso, l’Onnipotente e Unico, ha fatto sentire la Sua voce.
Sono davvero felice di venire come amico, come messaggero di pace e come pellegrino nel Paese che diede, più di duemila anni fa, rifugio e ospitalità alla Sacra Famiglia fuggita dalle minacce del re Erode (cfr Mt 2,1-16). Sono onorato di visitare la terra visitata dalla Sacra Famiglia!
Vi saluto cordialmente e vi ringrazio per avermi invitato a visitare l’Egitto, che voi chiamate “Umm il Dugna”! / Madre dell’universo!
Ringrazio vivamente il Signor Presidente della Repubblica, Sua Santità il Patriarca Tawadros II, il Grande Imam di Al-Azhar e il Patriarca Copto-Cattolico che mi hanno invitato; e ringrazio ciascuno di voi, che mi fate spazio nei vostri cuori. Grazie anche a tutte le persone che hanno lavorato, e stanno lavorando, per rendere possibile questo viaggio.
Desidero che questa visita sia un abbraccio di consolazione e di incoraggiamento a tutti i cristiani del Medio Oriente; un messaggio di amicizia e di stima a tutti gli abitanti dell’Egitto e della Regione; un messaggio di fraternità e di riconciliazione a tutti i figli di Abramo, particolarmente al mondo islamico, in cui l’Egitto occupa un posto di primo piano. Auspico che sia anche un valido contributo al dialogo interreligioso con il mondo islamico e al dialogo ecumenico con la venerata e amata Chiesa Copto Ortodossa.
Il nostro mondo, dilaniato dalla violenza cieca – che ha colpito anche il cuore della vostra cara terra – ha bisogno di pace, di amore e di misericordia; ha bisogno di operatori di pace e di persone libere e liberatrici, di persone coraggiose che sanno imparare dal passato per costruire il futuro senza chiudersi nei pregiudizi; ha bisogno di costruttori di ponti di pace, di dialogo, di fratellanza, di giustizia e di umanità.
Cari fratelli egiziani, giovani e anziani, donne e uomini, musulmani e cristiani, ricchi e poveri, vi abbraccio cordialmente e chiedo a Dio Onnipotente di benedirvi e di proteggere il vostro Paese da ogni male.

Dear people of Egypt! Al Salamò Alaikum! Peace be with you!
With a joyful and grateful heart I will come in a few days’ time to visit your dear homeland: cradle of civilization, gift of the Nile, land of sun and hospitality, where Patriarchs and Prophets lived and where God, Clement and Merciful, the One and Almighty, made His voice heard.
I am truly happy to come as a friend, as a messenger of peace and as a pilgrim to the Country that gave, more than two thousand years ago, refuge and hospitality to the Holy Family fleeing from the threats of King Herod (cfr. Mt 2:1-26). I am honoured to visit the land visited by the Holy Family!
I greet you cordially and thank you for having invited me to visit Egypt, which you call “Umm il Dugna” / Mother of the Universe!
I warmly thank Mr. President of the Republic, His Holiness the Patriarch Tawadros II, the Great Imam of Al-Azhar and the Coptic Catholic Patriarch who have invited me; and I thank each one of you, who make space for me in your hearts. I also thank all those people who have worked, and are working, to make this trip possible.
I hope that this visit will be an embrace of consolation and of encouragement to all Christians in the Middle East; a message of friendship and esteem to all inhabitants of Egypt and the region; a message of fraternity and reconciliation to all children of Abraham, particularly in the Islamic world, in which Egypt occupies a primary position. I hope that it may also offer a valid contribution to interreligious dialogue with the Islamic world, and to ecumenical dialogue with the venerated and beloved Coptic Orthodox Church.
Our world, torn by blind violence, which has also afflicted the heart of your dear land – needs peace, love and mercy; it needs workers for peace, free and liberating people, courageous people able to learn from the past to build a future without closing themselves up in prejudices; it needs builders of bridges of peace, dialogue, brotherhood, justice, and humanity.
Dear Egyptian brothers, young and elderly, women and men, Muslims and Christians, rich and poor … I embrace you warmly and ask God Almighty to bless you and protect your country from every evil.

Querido pueblo de Egipto: Al Salamò Alaikum! / La paz esté con vosotros.
Con el corazón lleno de gratitud y rebosante de alegría visitaré dentro de pocos días vuestra amada Patria: cuna de civilización, don del Nilo, tierra de sol y hospitalidad, donde vivieron Patriarcas y Profetas, y donde Dios, Clemente y Misericordioso, Todopoderoso y Único, hizo resonar su voz.
Me siento realmente feliz de ir como amigo, como mensajero de paz y como peregrino al País que, hace dos mil años, dio refugio y hospitalidad a la Sagrada Familia, que huía de las amenazas del Rey Herodes (cf. Mt 2,1-16). Me siento honrado de visitar la tierra en la que habitó la Sagrada Familia.
Os saludo cordialmente y os agradezco vuestra invitación para visitar Egipto, al que vosotros llamáis «Umm il Dugna» / Madre del Universo.
Agradezco vivamente al Señor Presidente de la República, a Su Santidad el Patriarca Tawadros II, al Gran Imán de Al-Azhar y al Patriarca Copto–Católico por su invitación. Doy las gracias a cada uno de vosotros que me acogéis en vuestro corazón. Mi agradecimiento también a todas las personas que han trabajado, y están trabajando, para hacer posible este viaje.

Geschätztes ägyptisches Volk! Al Salamò Alaikum! Der Friede sei mit euch!
Voll Freude und Dankbarkeit im Herzen werde ich in wenigen Tagen eure geliebte Heimat besuchen: Wiege der Kultur, Geschenk des Nils, Land der Sonne und der Gastfreundschaft, wo Patriarchen und Propheten lebten und wo Gott, der Gütige und Barmherzige, der Allmächtige und Eine, seine Stimme hören ließ.
Ich bin wirklich glücklich, als Freund, als Bote des Friedens und als Pilger in das Land zu kommen, das vor mehr als zweitausend Jahren der Heiligen Familie, als sie vor der Bedrohung durch König Herodes geflohen war (vgl. Mt 2,1-16), Zuflucht und Gastfreundschaft gewährt hat. Ich bin geehrt, das Land zu besuchen, das die Heilige Familie aufgesucht hat!
Ich grüße euch herzlich und danke euch, dass ihr mich eingeladen habt, nach Ägypten zu kommen, das ihr „Umm il Dugna“ – Mutter der Welt nennt.
Ich danke vielmals dem Präsidenten der Republik Ägypten sowie Seiner Heiligkeit Patriarch Tawadros II., dem Großimam der Al-Azhar und dem Koptisch-Katholischen Patriarchen, die mich eingeladen haben; und ich danke jedem von euch, die ihr mir einen Platz in euren Herzen gebt. Unsere Welt, die von blinder Gewalt, die auch das Herz eures geschätzten Landes getroffen hat, zerrissen wird, braucht Frieden, Liebe und Barmherzigkeit; sie braucht Menschen, die Frieden stiften, und solche, die frei sind und befreien; mutige Menschen, die von der Vergangenheit lernen können, um eine Zukunft aufzubauen, ohne sich in Vorurteilen zu verschließen; sie braucht Brückenbauer des Friedens, des Dialogs, der Brüderlichkeit, der Gerechtigkeit und Menschlichkeit.

يا شعب مصر الحبيب! السلام عليكم!
بقلب فرح وشاكر، سأزور بعد أيام قلائل وطنكم العزيز: مهد الحضارة، وهبة النيل، وأرض الشمس والضيافة، حيث عاش الآباء البطاركة والأنبياء، وحيث الله، الرؤوف والرحيم، القدير والواحد، أسمع صوته.
إني لسعيد حقا أن آتي كصديق، وكمرسل سلام، وكحاج إلى الأرض التي قدمت، منذ أكثر من ألفي عام، ملجأ وضيافة للعائلة المقدسة، عند هربها من تهديدات الملك هيرودس (را. متى 2، 1 - 16). يشرفني أن أزور الأرض التي زارتها العائلة المقدسة!
أحييكم بمودة وأشكركم على دعوتكم لي لزيارة مصر، والتي تسمونها "أم الدنيا"!
أشكر جزيل الشكر فخامة رئيس الجمهورية، وقداسة البابا البطريرك تواضروس الثاني، والإمام الأكبر للأزهر، وبطريرك الأقباط الكاثوليك، شكرا جزيلا لكل واحد منكم على دعوتكم لي؛ كما أشكر كل واحد منكم، أنتم الذين ستفتحون قلوبكم لاستقبالي. أشكر كذلك جميع الأشخاص الذين عملوا، ويعملون، من أجل تحقيق هذه الزيارة.
