MUSICAL REVIEW “HARMONIES OF HOPE”

JUBILEE CONCERT “THE VIENNA BOYS’ CHOIR - Wiener Sängerknaben”

(Vatican City, 26 November 2025) – On Saturday 29 November, in the Church of Sant’Ignazio di Loyola in Campo Marzio, in Rome, the Dicastery for Evangelization, Section for Fundamental Questions regarding Evangelization in the World, with the support of the Fondazione Pro Musica e Arte Sacra, is organizing the concert “The Vienna Boys’ Choir – Wiener Sängerknaben”, as part of the “Harmonies of Hope” musical review.

The event, which will begin at 20.30, concludes the programme of eight Jubilee concerts planned for the Holy Year.

The Wiener Sängerknaben, Vienna’s renowned boy’s choir, a symbol of vocal purity and a universal ambassador of the central European musical tradition, was founded in 1498 by the Emperor Maximilian I and represents one of the most ancient and prestigious choral institutions in the world. Its repertoire, ranging from Gregorian chant to the masters of the Renaissance, from Baroque to contemporary composers, has for centuries expressed the beauty of Christian spirituality through the clarity of children’s voices.

The ensemble, conducted by Maestro Manolo Cagnin, will offer a concert of extraordinary contemplative intensity, with music that invites reflection and joy.

The event precedes the first Sunday of Advent, in the spirit of hope, peace and the universal beauty of sacred song.

Admission to the concert is free of charge and subject to availability of seats.
