Over 3500 pilgrims for the Jubilee of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre

The members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, led by the Grand Master, Cardinal Fernando Filone, will meet in Rome from 21 to 23 October for the Ordinary Jubilee 2025. In an international context in which being pilgrims of hope represents a great challenge, the Order, as a Pontifical Institution whose mission, assigned by the Holy Father Pius IX and his successors, “is that of animating zeal in the ecclesial community towards the Land of Jesus and sustaining the Catholic Church and the Christian presence there”, feels called to live the virtues of faith, hope and charity even more intensely.

More than 3500 pilgrims from 67 local entities of the Order (Lieutenancies and Magistral Delegations) present in 40 countries throughout the world will participate in this pilgrimage to the city of Saints Peter and Paul, turning their eyes towards the Mother Church of Jerusalem whom they have at heart and support with prayer, human closeness and practical projects of solidarity. In the past, the Knights and Dames of the Order held an international pilgrimage in 2013, on the occasion of the Year of Faith.

During the Jubilee of the Order, the pilgrims will pass through the Holy Doors of the four Papal Basilicas, and will celebrate in each one of them:

·      Basilica of Saint Paul Outside-the-Walls (Holy Mass on 21 October, in the afternoon);

·      Basilica of Saint John Lateran (Holy Mass on 22 October, in the morning);

·      Basilica of Saint Mary Major (moment of personal prayer in procession on 22 October, in the morning);

·      Basilica of Saint Peter (Holy Mass on 23 October, in the morning).

On 23 October the Knights and Dames will be received in audience by Pope Leo XIV whose Pontificate, in this first year, they have specially entrusted to the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Palestine, Patroness of the Order.
