Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Uganda

The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Tomasz Grysa, titular of Rubicon, until now apostolic nuncio in Madagascar, the Seychelles, and Mauritius, and apostolic delegate in the Comoros Islands, with function of apostolic delegate in La Réunion, as apostolic nuncio in Uganda.

 

Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Argentina

The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Michael W. Banach, titular of Memfi, until now apostolic nuncio in Hungary, as apostolic nuncio in Argentina.

 

Appointment of metropolitan archbishop of Gorizia, Italy

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Giampaolo Dianin as metropolitan archbishop of Gorizia, Italy, transferring him from the diocese of Chioggia.

Curriculum vitae

Archbishop-elect Giampaolo Dianin was born on 29 October 1962 in Teolo, in the province and diocese of Padua. After attending the seminary of Padua, he was awarded a doctorate in moral theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome.

He was ordained a priest on 7 June 1987.

He has held the following offices: lecturer in family morality at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy, Padua Section (since 1991), and subsequently at the Theological Faculty of Triveneto; lecturer in fundamental morality and social morality at the Superior Institute of Religious Sciences in Padua (1995-2002); lecturer in family pastoral care for the two-year licentiate course in pastoral theology in Padua (since 2003); director of the Family Office of the diocese of Padua (1992-2000); coordinator of the Family Commission of the Triveneto Ecclesiastical Region (1990-2001); assistant to Catholic Action, Padua (2000-2007); episcopal delegate for the permanent diaconate (2009-2012); coordinator of the Triveneto Commission for Seminaries (2012-2018); collaborator in the parish of Mestrino; rector of the major seminary of Padua; and member of the diocesan Pastoral Council, Presbyteral Council and College of Consultors.

He was appointed bishop of Chioggia on 3 November 2021, receiving episcopal consecration on 16 January 2022.

Within the Italian Episcopal Conference, he is delegate for the Seminaries of Italy, and, for the Regional Episcopal Conference of Triveneto, he is delegate for the clergy and seminaries.

 

Resignation and appointment of bishop of Bacolod, Philippines

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Bacolod, Philippines, presented by Bishop Patricio A. Buzon, S.D.B.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Louie Patalinghug Galbines, until now bishop of the diocese of Kabankalan, as bishop of the diocese of Bacolod, Philippines.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Louie Patalinghug Galbines was born on 18 November 1966 in Aliwanag, in the diocese of Bacolod. After studying philosophy and theology at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, he was awarded a licentiate and doctorate in theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome.

He was ordained a priest on 29 April 1994 for the diocese of Bacolod.

He has held the following offices: vice dean and spiritual director of the Sacred Heart Seminary in Bacolod City (1994); chancellor and secretary of the diocesan Curia of Bacolod (1994-1996); treasurer and collaborator of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (2001-2006); vice president and president of the diocesan Commission for the Clergy (2007-2012); parish vicar of Saint Sebastian in Bacolod City (2007-2012); rector of the Sacred Heart Seminary in Bacolod City (2012-2018); and vicar general (2013-2018).

He was appointed bishop of Kabankalan on 12 March 2018, receiving episcopal ordination on the following 28 May.

 

Appointment of bishop of Bata, Equatorial Guinea

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Miguel Angel Nguema Bee Etete, S.D.B., until now apostolic administrator of Bata and bishop of the diocese of Ebebiyin, as bishop of Bata, Equatorial Guinea.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Miguel Angel Nguema Bee Etete, S.D.B., was born on 13 July 1969 in Bata, Equatorial Guinea. After studying philosophy at the Don Bosco Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences in Lomé, Togo, and theology at the Theologicum Saint François de Sales in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, he was awarded a licentiate in science of education at the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome.

He was ordained a priest on 24 July 2000.

He was appointed bishop of Ebibeyin on 1 April 2017, receiving episcopal ordination the following 20 May. Since December 2024, he has served as apostolic administrator of the diocese of Bata.
