Appointment of bishop of Warangal, India
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Vijaya Paul Reddy Duggimpudi, of the clergy of Warangal, until now diocesan administrator of Warangal, as bishop of the same diocese.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Vijaya Paul Reddy Duggimpudi was born on 8 January 1965 in Manugonda, in India. After studying philosophy and theology at Saint John’s Regional Seminary in Hyderabad, he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts from Osmania University.
He was ordained a priest on 2 April 1992, and incardinated into the diocese of Warangal.
After ordination, he held the roles of parish vicar and director of the hostel at Saint Joseph’s Co-Cathedral Church in Khammam (1992-1993), head of the PIME Regional House and director of Saint Xavier’s Hostel, diocese of Eluru (1993-1995), and parish priest of Devagripatnam of Warangal (1995-2002). He obtained a Master of Arts from Osmania University, and a Bachelor and Master of Education from Annamalai University, and went on to serve as director and legal representative of Fatima College of Education in Warangal (2002-2009), parish priest of Saint Francis de Sales in Velair (2009-2015), director of Lodi Multipurpose Social Service Society in Warangal (2015-2023), director of the Christu Jyothi Institute of Technology and Science in Warangal (2023-2025), and to date, diocesan administrator of Warangal (since 2025).
