Appointment of metropolitan archbishop of Lomé, Togo
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Isaac Jogues Kodjo Agbéménya Gaglo of Aného, apostolic administrator of the metropolitan archdiocese of Lomé, Togo, as metropolitan archbishop of the same archdiocese.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Isaac Jogues Kodjo Agbéménya Gaglo of Aného was born on 7 October 1958 in Kpémé in the diocese of Aného, and was ordained a priest on 9 August 1985.
After ordination, he first held the offices of deputy parish priest in Lomé and teacher at the San Pio X Minor Seminary in Lomé (1986-1991). He was awarded a doctorate in moral theology in Innsbruck, Austria (1997) and went on to serve as parish priest and representative for family pastoral care (1998-2005), diocesan consultor (2004) and diocesan administrator of Aného (2005-2007).
He was appointed bishop of Aného on 3 December 2007, and received episcopal consecration on 2 February 2008. Since 2024 he has served as apostolic administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the metropolitan archdiocese of Lomé.
Appointment of metropolitan archbishop of Sherbrooke, Canada
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Guy Boulanger as metropolitan archbishop of Sherbrooke, Canada, transferring him from the diocese of Amos and Rouyn-Noranda.
Curriculum vitae
Archbishop-elect Guy Boulanger was born on 6 June 1963 in Sainte-Cécile-de-Whitton, in the archdiocese of Sherbrooke. He attended a course in civil law at the Université de Sherbrooke. He then continued his studies in philosophy in Sherbrooke and theology at the Université Laval in Québec, obtaining a licentiate and doctorate in canon law at the Université Saint-Paul in Ottawa.
He was ordained a priest on 26 October 1991, and incardinated in the archdiocese of Sherbrooke.
He has held the following offices: parish priest, rector of the Shrine of Mont-Saint-Joseph, member of the Presbyteral Council, director of the diocesan Vocations Office, notary and Defender of the Bond, episcopal vicar for economic affairs, chancellor and vicar general.
On 31 January 2020 he was appointed bishop of Rouyn-Noranda and received episcopal ordination the following 28 August. On 16 September 2023 he was also appointed bishop of Amos, uniting the two sees in persona Episcopi.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Lawrence Oftentse Pheto, of the clergy of Gaborone, Botswana, until now parish priest of St. Theresa in Lobatse and judicial vicar for the diocesan marriage tribunal, as bishop of the diocese of Francistown, Botswana.

Bishop Lawrence Ofentse Pheto was born on 12 March 1976 in Ramotswa, in the diocese of Gaborone. He studied philosophy and theology at the Chishawasha Major Seminary in Harare, Zimbabwe. He received priestly ordination on 8 October 2005, and was incardinated in the diocese of Gaborone.
After ordination, he first served as deputy parish priest of St. Theresa in Lobatse, Gaborone (2006), parish priest of Holy Cross, Gaborone (2006-2008), and rector of the Charles Lwanga Minor Seminary, Gaborone (2008). He studied for a licentiate in canon law at the Pontifical Urbaniana University of Rome (2009-2012), and went on to serve as parish priest of Tsholofelong, Tlokweng, Gaborone (2012-2014), rector of the Charles Lwanga Minor Seminary, Gaborone (2014-2017), and, from 2017 to date, parish priest of St. Theresa in Lobatse, Gaborone, and judicial vicar for the diocesan marriage tribunal.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Claudio Pablo Castricone, until now titular of Castra nova and auxiliary of the same diocese, as coadjutor bishop of the diocese of Orán, Argentina.

Bishop Claudio Pablo Castricone was born on 16 April 1958 in Villa Constitución, in the archdiocese of Rosario. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies in the archdiocesan seminary of Rosario.
He was ordained a priest on 23 November 1984, and incardinated in the archdiocese of Orán.
He has held the following offices: chaplain of the Santísimo Rosario College, parish vicar and parish priest, chaplain of the Hospital Español, episcopal delegate of the penitential pastoral care area, dean and member of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors, member of the archdiocesan Council for Catechesis and episcopal delegate for the Pastoral Care of Barrios populares.
On 9 March 2023, he was appointed titular bishop of Castra nova and auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Orán, Argentina, and received episcopal ordination on the following 23 May.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Andrea Roberto Ciucci, until now coordinator of the Secretariat of the Pontifical Academy for Life, as chancellor of the aforementioned Pontifical Academy.

The Reverend Ciucci, priest of the archdiocese of Milan, Italy, was born there on 5 February 1967. After graduating in philosophy from the University of Milan in 2004, he was awarded a doctorate in philosophy of religions at the Pontifical Saint Anselm Athenaeum in 2017. Parish vicar and coordinator of the Youth Ministry Team for Milan’s Historic Centre, he has worked at the former Pontifical Council for the Family since 2012 and has been secretary-general of the Pontifical Academy for Life since 2016. He currently teaches at the Pontifical Theological Institute “John Paul II” for the Marriage and Family Sciences in Rome, and is secretary-general of the “RenAIssance” Foundation.
