Appointment of vicar apostolic of Tabuk, Philippines

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Sean Buslig Mejia, of the clergy of the apostolic vicariate of Tabuk, Philippines, and hitherto pro-vicar of the same, as vicar apostolic of the same apostolic vicariate.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Buslig Mejia was born on 3 March 1972 in Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga, in the apostolic vicariate of Tabuk. After studying philosophy at San Pablo Seminary in Baguio City, and theology at the Immaculate Conception School of Theology of Vigan City, he obtained a licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical Urbanian University of Rome.

He was ordained a priest on 19 October 1999 for the apostolic vicariate of Tabuk.

After ordination, he held the roles of parish vicar of the Flora Catholic Mission, Flora, Apayao (1999-2000), head of the Lubuagan Catholic Mission, Lubuagan, Kalinga (2000-2001), formator at the Immaculate Conception School of Theology, Vigan City (2001-2002), formator at San Pablo College Seminary, Vigan City (2003), chancellor of the Vicariate (2007-2008), parish priest of Saint William’s Cathedral, Butanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga (2008-2011), chairman of the Education Commission (2011-2013), superintendent at the Catholic Schools of Tabuk (2014-2016), parish priest of Flora Catholic Mission, Flora, Apayao (2017-2021), parish priest of Tuga Catholic Miission, Tuga, Tabuk City, Kalinga (2021-2024), and pro-vicar of the apostolic vicariate of Tabuk (since 31 March 2025).
