This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father Leo XIV received in audience His Excellency Mr. Péter Kveck, ambassador of Hungary to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of his credential letters.
The following is a brief biography of the new ambassador:

Ambassador of Hungary to the Holy See
His Excellency Mr. Péter Kveck was born in Miskolc in 1966, and is married with one daughter.
He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lajos Kossuth University (1985-1991), and specialized in economics and international finance (1992-1994). He was awarded a doctorate in comparative linguistics, and attended the diplomatic Academy in Vienna.
He has held the following offices: assistant lecturer, Lajos Kossuth University, Department of German Language and Literature (1990-1992); desk officer, Middle East and Africa Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1998-2000); diplomat, Embassy in the People’s Republic of China (2000-2004), desk officer, Department for EU Common Foreign and Security Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004-2005), vice director for Africa and the Middle East, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2008); ambassador in Egypt, accredited in Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea and Chad (2008-2020); director general for the Middle East and North Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2020-2023); and ambassador in Argentina, accredited in Paraguay and Uruguay (2023-2025).
