This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received in Audience His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Camilla. His Majesty King Charles III subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial talks at the Secretariat of State, appreciation was expressed for the good existing bilateral relations, and matters of common interest were discussed, such as environmental protection and the fight against poverty. Particular attention was given to the shared commitment to promoting peace and security in the face of global challenges.

Finally, recalling the history of the Church in the United Kingdom, there was a shared reflection on the need to continue promoting ecumenical dialogue.
