This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father Leo XIV received in Audience the President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, His Excellency Mr. Yamandú Orsi, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, accompanied by the Reverend Monsignor Daniel Pacho, Undersecretary for the Multilateral Sector of the Section for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial talks, held at the Secretariat of State, the good bilateral relations and the will to strengthen them further were emphasized. The valuable contribution offered by the Church to the country, particularly in the education sector and in the fight against poverty, was highlighted.

As the conversation continued, matters of an ethical nature and the demographic problem were addressed.
