This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father Leo XIV received in audience His Excellency Mr. Bruno Kahl, Ambassador of Germany to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of his credential letters.
The following is a brief biography of the new Ambassador:

Ambassador of Germany to the Holy See
His Excellency Mr. Bruno Kahl was born on 12 July 1962 in Essen.
He studied jurisprudence (1983-1988) at the University of Bonn and Lausanne, and was awarded a research doctorate (Dr. jur.) from the University of Bonn (2008).
He has held the following offices: Legal practice, Cologne Court of Appeal (1991–1994); scientific collaborator with a Member of the Bundestag (1994); employee of the Federation of German Employers’ Associations (1995); official at the Federal Chancellery (1995–1996); expert advisor to the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag (1996–2005); Head of Cabinet, since 2006 also Head of the Political Centre of the Federal Ministry of the Interior (2005–2009); Head of the Political and Communications Centre, Federal Ministry of Finance (2009–2010); Director for Privatisation, Holdings and Federal Real Estate, Federal Ministry of Finance (2010–2016); President of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) (2016–2025).
