The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Alberto Torriani, of the clergy of the metropolitan archdiocese of Milan, until now rector of the San Carlo College of Milan, as archbishop of Crotone-San Severino.

Curriculum vitae

Archbishop-elect Alberto Torriani was born on 3 November 1971 in Bollate, in the province and archdiocese of Milan. He entered the archepiscopal seminary of Milan and was awarded a bachelor’s degree in theology.

He was ordained a priest for the archdiocese of Milan on 10 June 2000.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of San Biagio, assistant and deputy head of the San Biagio parish school in Monza (2000-2011), vicar for youth pastoral care of the “Ascensione” parish community (2003-2011), member of the diocesan Presbyteral Council (2010-2011), and rector of the Collegio Rotondi in Gorla Minore (2011-2016). From 2016 t0 2017 he was pro-rector of the San Carlo Archepiscopal College of Milan, and since 2017, rector.
