Today, Friday 11 October 2024, the Holy Father Francis received in audience His Excellency Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Secretariat of State.

The discussions in the Secretariat of State were dedicated to the state of the war and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, as well as the ways in which it could be brought to an end, leading to just and stable peace in the country. In addition, some matters relating to the religious life of the country were examined.
