This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father Francis received in audience Her Excellency Ms. Joyce Napier, ambassador of Canada to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of her credential letters.

The following is a brief biography of the new ambassador:

Her Excellency Ms. Joyce Napier was born in Montréal in 1958, and is married.

She graduated from the Corcordia University of Montréal.

She has held the following offices: journalist for Globe and Mail and for La Presse; television reporter for CBC/Radio-Canada, Montréal (1989-1998); Middle East correspondent for CBC/Radio-Canada (1998-2003); Washington correspondent for CBC/Radio-Canada (2003-2014); parliamentary correspondent in Ottawa (2015-2016); and office head of CTV National News in Ottawa (2016-2023).

She knows French, English, Italian and Spanish.
