The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil, presented by Bishop Aloíso Alberto Dill, O.F.M.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Itacir Brassiani, M.S.F., provincial superior of the province of Latin America based in Passo Fundo-RS, as bishop of the diocese of Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Itacir Brassiani, M.S.F., was born on 28 December 1959 in Soledade, diocese of Cruz Alta, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul.
He carried out his studies in philosophy at the Universidade de Passo Fundo-RS and in theology at the Instituto Missioneiro de Teologia in Santo Ângelo-RS, and was awarded a licentiate in systematic theology from the Faculdade Jesuíta-FAJE in Belo Horizonte-MG.
On 29 January 1984 he gave his religious vows in the Congregation of Missionaries of the Holy Family, and on 21 February 1987 he received priestly ordination.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar and then parish priest of Sagrada Família in Santo Ângelo-RS; parish priest of Santo Antônio in Santo Ângelo-RS; parish vicar of São Sebastião da Boa Vista in Contagem-MG; member of the street pastoral care team in Belo Horizonte-MG; teacher at the Instituto Missioneiro de Teologia in Santo Ângelo-RS; formator of students and member of the Formation Commission of the Missionaries of the Holy Family; local superior and administrator of the Escola Apostólica Sagrada Família in Santo Ângelo-RS; member and treasurer of the Conference of Religious of Brazil (CRB); provincial visitator; counsellor and then provincial superior of the province of Brasil Meridional; and vicar general at the General Council in Rome.
Since 2021 he has served as provincial superior of the province of Latin America, based in Passo Fundo-RS.
Appointment of vicar apostolic of Soddo, Ethiopia
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Dejene Hidoto Gamo, O.F.M. Cap., until now provincial viar of Kidane Meheret of the Capuchin Friars of Ethiopia, guardian of the fraternity of Konto, director of the Abba Pascal Technical and Vocational Training Institute and pastoral coordinator of the apostolic vicariate of Soddo.

Msgr. Dejene Hidoto Gamo, O.F.M. Cap., was born on 21 March 1972 in Sibaye, Soddo. He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Addis Ababa University and a Master of Arts in public ethics from Saint Paul University, Ottawa, Canada.
He gave his perpetual vows in 1998 and, after completing his studies and formation at the Saint Francis Capuchin Institute of Philosophy and Theology in Addis Ababa, he was ordained a priest on 9 July 2000 in Addis Ababa.
He has held the following offices: parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes in Dubbo, Wolaita (2000-2006), social welfare director, assistant chaplain of the English-speaking international community and bursar of the Holy Saviour fraternity (2009-2012), director of the Abba Pascal Technical and Vocational Training Institute, Soddo (2012-2013 and 2016 to date); since 2023, pastoral coordinator of the apostolic vicariate of Soddo. He is currently provincial vicar of Kidane Meheret of the Capuchin Friars of Ethiopia, and guardian of the fraternity of Konto.
Appointment of auxiliary bishops of Buenos Aires, Argentina
The Holy Father has appointed the following as auxiliary bishops of Buenos Aires, Argentina: of the clergy of the same archdiocese, the Reverends Sergio Iván Dornelles, assigning him the titular see of Eguga, Pedro Bernardo Cannavó, assigning him the titular see of Idassa, and Alejandro Daniel Pardo, assigning him the titular see of Fissiana.
Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Sergio Iván Dornelles
Msgr. Dornelles was born on 26 April 1974 in General Alvear, archdiocese of Corrientes. After obtaining a degree in Derecho from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and practicing as a civil lawyer for several years, he carried out his ecclesiastical studies in the seminary of Buenos Aires.
He was ordained a priest on 17 November 2007, and incardinated in the archdiocese of Buenos Aires.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of San Saturnino y San Judas Tadeo and of Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia; assistant of the area of aspirants of Catholic Action and dean. He is currently parish priest of Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia, head of the episcopal vicariate for children, member of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors, director of the diocesan Pastoral Council and legal representative of the parish College.

Msgr. Cannavó was born on 10 April 1978. He began his university studies in the Faculty of Political Sciences, attending for a couple of years, and then entered the seminary of Buenos Aires.
He was ordained a priest on 21 November 2009, and incardinated in the archdiocese of Buenos Aires.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Santa Clara, Nuestra Señora de Caacupé and Virgin Inmaculada de Lourdes; chaplain of the Church of María Madre Purísima and parish priest of San Saturnino y San Judas Tadeo. He is currently chaplin of the Instituto Social Militar Dr. Dámaso Centeno and parish priest of Santa María Madre del Pueblo.

Msgr. Pardo was born on 16 March 1978. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies in the seminary of Buenos Aires, and was ordained a priest on 18 November 2006 for the archdiocese of Buenos Aires.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Santa Teresa del Niño Jesús; parish priest of Cristo Rey; dean; member of the Presbyteral Council, and parish administrator of Nuestra Señora de Belén. He is currently parish priest of San Nicolás de Bari.
