Resignation and appointment of bishop of Autlán, Mexico
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Autlán, Mexico, presented by Bishop Rafael Sandoval Sandoval, M.N.M.
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Eduardo Muñoz Ochoa, until now titular of Satafis and auxiliary of Guadalajara, as bishop of the diocese of Autlán, Mexico.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Eduardo Muñoz Ochoa was born on 13 October 1968 in Guadalajara.
He was ordained a priest on 22 May 1997, incardinated in the metropolitan archdiocese of Guadalajara.
He was awarded a licentiate in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome, and a licentiate in philosophy from UNIVA, Guadalajara.
He has held the following offices in the archdiocese of Guadalajara: parish vicar, formator, spiritual director of the seminary, executive director of the episcopal dimension of seminaries, and formator in the major seminary.
On 27 November 2020 he was appointed titular bishop of Satafis and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Guadalajara. He received episcopal ordination on 22 February 2021.
