The Credential Letters of the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Holy See, 30.12.2023
This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father Francis received in audience His Excellency Mr. Mahmood bin Hamed Nasser Al Hasani, ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of his credential letters.
The following is a brief biography of the new ambassador:

Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Holy See
His Excellency Mr. Mahmood bin Hamed Nasser Al Hasani was born in Baushar on 7 May 1969, and is married with five children.
He has a degree in Libraries and Documents from the Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman (1992).
Since entering the diplomatic service, he has held the following offices: Department of Information (March 1993); director of the Coordination and Follow-Up Office (May 1993-2000); deputy head of Mission in Iran (2000-2005); Department of Administration and Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2013); deputy head of Mission in Austria (2013-2016); Department of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2016-2017); head of Department of International Organizations (March – November 2022); and ambassador of the Swiss Confederation (since November 2022).
