Appointment of secretary of the Dicastery for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life
The Holy Father Francis has appointed the Reverend Sr. Simona Brambilla, M.C., former superior general of the Consolata Missionaries, Italy, as secretary of the Dicastery for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life.
Curriculum vitae
The Reverend Sr. Simona Brambilla was born in Monza, Italy, on 27 March 1965.
After obtaining a diploma as a professional nurse in 1986, she entered the Institute of the Consolata Missionary Sisters in 1988, making her first religious vows in 1991. In 1998 she was awarded a licentiate in psychology from the Institute of Psychology of the Pontifical Gregorian University.
After her perpetual vows in 1999, she went to Mozambique, where she was engaged in youth pastoral activities at the Macua Xirima Study Centre in Maua.
From 2002 to 2006 she was a lecturer at the Institute of Psychology of the Pontifical Gregorian University.
From 2005 to 2011 she served as counsellor general of the Institute of Consolata Missionary Sisters.
In 2008 she was awarded a doctorate in psychology from the Pontifical Gregorian University.
In 2011 she was elected superior general of the Institute of Consolata Missionary Sisters, and was re-elected in 2017, until May 2023.
Since 2019 she has been a member of the Dicastery for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life.
