Promulgation of Decrees of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, 22.06.2023

During the audience granted to His Eminence Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, the Supreme Pontiff authorized the same Dicastery to promulgate the Decrees regarding:

- the martyrdom of the Servant of God Manuel González Rodríguez and 19 companions, diocesan priests, seminarians and laypersons, killed in hatred of the faith in 1936 in Spain;

- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Antônio de Almeida Lustosa, of the Salesian Society of Saint John Bosco, archbishop of Fortaleza; born on 11 February 1886 in São João del Rei, Braziol, and died on 14 August 1974 in Carpina, Brazil;

- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Antonio Pagani (né Marco), professed priest of the Order of Friars Minor, founder of the Society of the Dimesse Sisters, Daughters of Mary Immaculate; born in 1526 in Venice, Italy, and died on 4 January 1589 in Vicenza, Italy;

- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Mary Lange (née Elizabeth), founder of the Institute of the Oblate Sisters of Divine Providence; born around 1794 in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, and died on 3 February 1882 in Baltimore, United States of America;

- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Anna Cantalupo (née Pia), of the Society of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul; born on 3 September 1888 in Naples, Italy, and died on 17 March 1983 in Catania, Italy,

- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Lúcia de Jesus e do Coração Immaculado (née Lúcia dos Santos), professed nun of the Order of Descalced Carmelites; born on 28 March 1907 in Aljustrel, Portugal, and died on 13 February 2005 in Coimbra, Portugal.
