The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the office of auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Bombay, India, presented by Bishop Allwyn D’Silva, titular of Dura.

 

Appointment of bishop of Katiola, Cote d’Ivoire

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Honoré Beugré Dakpa, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Gagnoa, until now secretary general of the Catholic University of West Africa (UCAO/UUA) as bishop of the diocese of Katiola, Cote d’Ivoire.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Honoré Beugré Dakpa was born on 30 July 1969 in Grand-Lahou, diocese of Gagnoa. After attending the minor seminary, he completed the cycle of philosophy and theology at the Saint Cœur de Marie Major Seminary of Anyama.

He was ordained a priest on 20 December 1998 for the archdiocese of Gagnoa.

After ordination, he held the offices of parish vicar in Gbagbam (1998-1999); parish vicar of Saint Jean Baptiste in Lakota and formator at the catechistic centre of Gagnoa (1999-2000); parish vicar of Saint Jacques Cocody II Plateaux, Abidjan (2000-2001); vicar of the university parish of Saint Albert le Grand de Cocody, vice chaplain of students and spiritual direction of the Saint Paul VI University Seminary, Abidjan (2001-2004). He studied at the Université Catholique de l'Afrique de l'Ouest (UCAO/UUA) and was prefect of discipline at the Saint Paul VI University Seminary (2004-2007). He was awarded a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Lateran University, Rome (2008-2010) and went on to serve as professor of canon law at the UCAO/UUA and member of the Commission for Legal Affairs and the Appeals Tribunals (2011-2016); director of the Institute of Canon Law of the UCAO/UUA (2013-2019); since 2016, judge of first instance of the diocesan tribunal of San Pedro and, since 2020, secretary general of the UCAO/UUA).

 

Appointment of bishop of Colima, Mexico

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Gerardo Díaz Vázquez, until now bishop of Tacámbaro, as bishop of the diocese of Colima, Mexico.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Gerardo Díaz Vázquez was born on 25 May 1966 in La Angostura, in the diocese of San Juan de los Lagos. After completing his studies in philosophy and theology at the major seminary of San Juan de los Lagos, he received priestly ordination on 1 May 1993.

He holds a licentiate in family pastoral care from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute in Rome.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar and parish priest, diocesan family pastoral care supervisor, prefect and professor at the San Juan de los Lagos Major Seminary; spiritual director of the Monastery of Dominican Sisters; member of the diocesan pastoral council and director of the San Rafael Mutual Welfare Association.

He was appointed bishop of Tacámbaro on 22 August 2014, receiving episcopal ordination the following 22 October. He is currently chair of the Episcopal Commission for Family, Youth, Adolescents, Laity and Life, of the Mexican Episcopal Conference.

 

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Monterrey, Mexico

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Carlos Alberto Santos García, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Monterrey, Mexico, until now rector of the archdiocesan seminary, as auxiliary bishop of the same archdiocese, assigning him the titular see of Tamada.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Santos García was born on 2 October 1976 in the city of Monterrey. He entered the Monterrey Major Seminary and was ordained a priest on 15 August 2002, incardinated in the Archdiocese of Monterrey.

He was awarded a licentiate in biblical theology from the Universidad Pontificia de México and a doctorate from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar; prefect of studies at the minor seminary; secretary general of the metropolitan seminary; parish administrator; parish priest of Saint John Bosco; head of the cultural area of the Clergy Commission; since 2020, rector of the archdiocesan seminary of Monterrey and member of the College of Consultors.

 

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Kisangani, Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Lénard Ndjate, M.C.C.I., until now provincial of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Kisangani, Democratic Republic of the Congo, assigning him the titular see of Casae in Numidia.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Lénard Ndjadi Ndjate, M.C.C.I., was born on 2 January 1976 in Yanonge, in the archdiocese of Kisangani. In 1995 he entered the Congregation of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus. After his novitiate, he studied philosophy at the Philosophat Edith Stein in Kisangani and then theology at the Institut Saint Eugène de Mazenod in Kinshasa.

He gave his solemn vows on 10 October 2005 and was ordained a priest on 13 August 2006 in Kisangani.

After ordination, he first served as parish priest in Bangui and provincial counsellor (2006-2013). After obtaining a licentiate in spiritual theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome (2013-2015), he went on to serve as master of novices at the International Novitiate of the Combonians for French-speaking Africa in Cotonou, Benin (2015-2019); and from 2020 to the present, provincial superior of the Congregation of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus for the Democratic Republic of Congo.
