Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Basel, Switzerland
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Josef Stübi, of the clergy of the diocese of Basel, Switzerland, hitherto parish priest of Baden, as auxiliary bishop of the same diocese, assigning him the titular see of Lemellefa.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Josef Stübi was born on 26 March 1961 in Luzern. He carried out his philosophical and theological studies in Luzern and München, obtaining a diploma in theology.
He received priestly ordination on 20 August 1988 in Windisch, and was incardinated in the diocese of Basel.
He subsequently served as parish vicar in Windisch, then, from 1994, parish priest and dean in Hochdorf and, from 2008 to the present, parish priest of Baden.
From 2009 to 2018 he was also dean of the deanery of Baden-Wettingen, and in 2013 he became non-resident canon of the canton of Aargau.

The Holy Father, confirming the election on the part of the General Chapter of the Olivetan Benedictine Congregation, has appointed the Reverend Dom Diego Gualtiero Rosa, O.S.B. Oliv., as abbot ordinary of the territorial abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, Italy. The Reverend Rosa hitherto served as abbot ordinary of the circumscription.
Curriculum vitae
The Reverend Fr. Abbot Dom Diego Gualtiero Rosa, O.S.B. Oliv., was born on 20 February 1953 in Borgo Poncarale, diocese of Brescia. After completing his high school studies, he entered the novitiate of the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, where he gave his temporary vows on 13 August 1972, and his perpetual vows on 8 September 1976.
He received priestly ordination on 22 June 1980.
He has held the following offices: deputy parish priest in the parish monastery of San Nicola in Rodengo-Saiano (1980-1983); bursar of the Abbey of San Miniato al Monte in Florence (1984-1991); parish priest of the parish of San Bernardo Tolomei in Siena (1992-1996); secretary to the abbot general and chancellor of the Olivetan Congregation (1996-1998).
In 1999 he was elected superior of the Abbey of the Beata Vergine del Pilastrello of Lendinara, diocese of Adria-Rovigo. On 21 February 2000 he was elected abbot of the same abbey and received the abbatial blessing on 13 February 2000.
On 21 October 2010 he was elected abbot ordinary of the territorial abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore and Abbot General of the Congregation of Santa Maria di Monte Oliveto Maggiore. In 2016 he was reconfirmed in the post.
He is a member of the episcopal Commission for the Liturgy of the Italian Episcopal Conference.
