Appointment of auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Southwark, England
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Canon Philip Moger, of the clergy of the diocese of Leeds, rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Southwark, England, assigning him the titular see of Glastonia.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Philip Moger was born on 25 April 1955 in Halifax, in the county of West Yorkshire and in the diocese of Leeds, England. After attending Saint Cuthbert’s College in Ushaw, he was ordained a priest on 26 June 1992 for the same diocese.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Saint Urban, Leeds (1982-1985); vicar administrator at the Myddleton Lodge Youth Centre, Ilkley (1985-1992); vicar administrator of Saint Anne’s Cathedral, Leeds (1992-2001); director of vocations (1995-2004); special secretary to the bishop (2001-2004); parish of First Martyrs of Rome, Bradford (2004-2008); dean of Saint Anne’s Cathedral, Leeds (2008-2019); parish priest of Mother of Unfailing Help, Leeds (2010-2019); and parish priest of Saint John Vianney (2019-2020).
In 2020 he was appointed rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.
