Resignation and Appointment of bishop of Kotido, Uganda
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Kotido, Uganda, presented by Bishop Giuseppe Filippi, M.C.C.J.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Dominic Eibu, M.C.C.J., until now parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Cairo, Egypt, as bishop of the diocese of Kotido, Uganda.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Dominic Eibu, M.C.C.J., was born on 30 April 1970 in Lwala, in the diocese of Soroti, Uganda. After studying philosophy at the Queen of Apostles Philosophy Centre in Jinja, he gave his first religious vows on 16 May 1998 at the Institute of Comboni Missionaries in Namugongo, Kampala. He subsequently completed his studies in theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He gave his perpetual vows on 12 January 2002 and was ordained a priest on 15 August 2002. He was subsequently awarded a licentiate in Arabic and Islamic studies in Cairo, Egypt, and then at the Pontifical Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Rome.
He has held the following offices: director of the Comboni Primary School in Khartoum (2005-2016); vice superior general of the Combonian Province of Khartoum (2008-2013); member and secretary of the College of Consultors (2013-2016); secretary of the Presbyteral Council (2013-2016); secretary for education (2013-2016) and since 2017, school director and deputy parish priest in Cairo.
He is currently parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Cairo, vice superior general of Egypt-Sudan, and member of the Education Committee of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend John-Nhan Tran, of the clergy of the archdiocese of New Orleans, until now parish priest of the Mary, Queen of Heaven parish in Mandeville, as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Atlanta, United States of America, assigning him the titular see of Tullia.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. John-Nhan Tran was born on 6 February 1966 in Vietnam, from where he fled together with his family to New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1989 he was awarded a bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph Seminary College in Saint Benedict. He carried out his theological studies at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, obtaining a Master of Divinity (1992).
He was ordained a priest on 30 May 1992 for the archdiocese of New Orleans.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Our Lady of Lourdes in Violet (1992-1995), of the Visitation of Our Lady in Marrero (1995-1997), of Saint Angela Merici in Metairie (1997-1998) and of Our Lady of Divine Providence in Metairie (1999-2001); parish priest of Saint Louise de Marillac in Arabi (2001-2003), of Saint Bonaventure in Avondale (2003-2007), of Saint Joan of Arc in LaPlace (2007-2015) and of Mary, Queen of Heaven in Mandeville (since 2015).
