The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Juan Carlos Barreto Barreto as bishop of the diocese of Soacha, Colombia, transferring him from the see of Quibdó.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Juan Carlos Barreto Barreto was born on 26 December 1968 in El Guamo, Tolima, diocese of El Espinal. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies at the major seminary of Sonsón-Rionegro. He was awarded a licentiate in spiritual theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome.
He was ordained a priest on 30 January 1993 for the clergy of the diocese of Sonsón-Rionegro and has held the offices of parish vicar of Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá in Ortega and diocesan delegate for missionary childhood, parish vicar of the cathedral of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, diocesan delegate for prayer groups, parish priest of El Divino Niño in El Espinal, formator of the major seminary, diocesan delegate for liturgy and rector of the major seminary.
He was appointed as bishop of Quibdó on 30 January 2013 and received episcopal consecration the following 9 March.

The Holy Father has appointed the following as prelate auditors of the Roman Rota: Msgr. Laurence John Spiteri, official at the Vatican Apostolic Library, and the Reverend Fr. Antonios Chouweifaty, O.L.M., until now adjunct promotor of justice at the same Tribunal.
